  • January 10, 2018Hutton Honors Study Abroad - Wartime in the Netherlands Information Session

    Join the Hutton International Experiences Program (HIEP) for an informational session on the inaugural Hutton Honors Study Abroad program, scheduled for summer 2018. Wartime in the Netherlands is a three-credit hour honors seminar conducted over four weeks in The Hague, Netherlands, focused on World War II and its impact on Dutch culture. Learn about program details, including course information, group excursions, scholarships, and more! The program's Faculty Academic Director and the HIEP Manager will be present to answer individual questions, following the presentations.

  • November 2, 2017Chinese Culture Night

    The evening will begin with a film screening at 5:30 p.m. in the Whittenberger Auditorium, IMU.The Mermaid (2016) is a Chinese film about Shan, a mermaid who is sent to assassinate Xuan, a developer who threatens the ecosystem of her race, but who ends up falling in love with him instead. Presented in Chinese with English subtitles.

    Following the film, come to the HHC for an open house from 7 to 8 p.m. Taste regional cuisine, try your hand at cultural activities, and learn about academic, funding, and study abroad opportunities available at IU.

    This event is co-sponsored by the Hutton International Experiences Program (HIEP), Union Board, and the Chinese Flagship Program.


    *Students present at the film will receive a food ticket to present at the HHC between 7:00 and 7:30 pm. Other attendees will be served on a first-come basis beginning at 7:30 p.m.

    Join us for a night of film, cultural activities, and food from Turkey!

    The evening will begin with a film screening at 5:30 p.m. in the Whittenberger Auditorium, IMU. Beynelmilel (2006) is a Turkish film about local musicians in 1980s Turkey, who are hired by the military and trained to welcome one of the forceful generals of the coup regime. Presented in Turkish with English subtitles.

    Following the film, come to the HHC for an open house from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Taste cuisine from Turkey*, try your hand at cultural activities, and learn about academic, funding, and study abroad opportunities available at IU.

Additionally, returning students will share their overseas experiences and how they funded those opportunities.

    The evening will begin with a film screening at 5:30 p.m. in the Whittenberger Auditorium, IMU. Sand Storm (2016) is an Israeli drama that focuses on the lives of Bedouin women and the choices they must make for family, culture, and themselves. Presented in Arabic with English subtitles.

    Following the film, come to the HHC for an open house from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Taste cuisine from the region*, try your hand at cultural activities, and learn about academic, funding, and study abroad opportunities available at IU.
